Agile Scrum Master Certification

An Agile Mindset is “Only Feedback, no Failure”. Mindset, in general terms, is a set of assumptions, perceived notions, methods, etc. The main aim is to adopt or accept these behaviors, methods or tools in Agile Scrum Master Certification.

It is a way of thinking about things that have something common in life. Basically, these things make up the agile mindset:

  • Positive Attitude
  • Goal of Team Success
  • Pragmatism
  • Willingness to fail
  • Thirst for Knowledge

Whenever testing in Agile, if you fail at anything, consider it as a lesson, make corrections accordingly and correct yourself every time. For the team, it is necessary to have collective agile mindset.

There are people in the industry who even after having done Agile Scrum Master Certification take the work with positive attitude. They provide suggestions that can help to overcome obstacles.

These experts ask questions what’s in the best interests of the business. Some of the often come up with innovative solutions for certain problems. Their realistic and practical attitudes always help the team to succeed.

People having positive approach towards everything can only work effectively in the Agile team. So, as a Agile team member or an Agile Coach; you must have these qualities in you and your team members:

Positive Attitude of Agile Scrum Master Certification:

There are many challenges in an Agile Project. Human beings make mistakes and everything doesn’t go well as intended. The main thing here is how team members deal with these situations.

As you get the issues, you can deal with them in a timely manner with a positive attitude. At times, when you find something negative, you can find opportunity within that for further improvement.

The team must always be able to recognize the problems and take potential risks, then come up with suggestions for solutions. For people new to Agile, Self management is difficult. Here, positive attitude is important. Some of the things they try won’t work but one must not leave hope.

Every team member working with Agile and Scrum must have the thirst to get new knowledge about both the software's. They must attend meetups, read technical articles, etc and find some new sources for the ideas.

When you start any plan, implement the tests, learn about the product, and then make informed decisions about what to explore next.

Team Success of Agile Scrum Master Certification:

Successful accomplishment of Agile project depends entirely on the success of the team. Hence, success of a team is equally important. Here, it’s not about individual success or heroic behavior.

It is important for the team to succeed rather than for the individual to complete the tasks. Team members must be ready to move outside of their comfort zone to help the team. Efforts of every team member will lead to the successful completion of the project.

Team members must be willing to train each other in the areas they are not confident at. People are less likely to work on an important task if they are not expert in that area. Team members must take the time to train other members who are less familiar with the coding.

After completing the Agile Scrum Master Certification Course successfully, you must be ready to support the agile team in every best possible manner. Whether you get appointed as an Agile team member or as an Agile Project Manager, your main aim is to complete the Agile project within stipulated time frame.

Agile Velocity

Velocity is a simple way to measure the rate at which Scrum teams deliver business value. What project managers must keep in mind about Agile Velocity will be discussed here. Before, we move further; let’s understand what Velocity is?

Agile Velocity:

In short and simple terms, Agile Velocity can be considered as the amount of work your team does in a particular period of time. This can be measured in person hours, number of tasks completed, points collected, or any other units of measurement that can be used for work estimation.

Teams work constantly on the tasks that are on their plate. Velocity is measured as per the number of tasks done per day. The average of these daily velocities over the course of week can be used to estimate the work, a team can do in the long run.

It is equally useful in Scrum. All digital projects work towards a definite schedule. Velocity in Scrum is referred to as total of person hours completed. Knowing velocity, team members can calculate the amount of hours required to complete a project.

The time calculated to complete a project in this manner is mostly accurate.

How is Agile Velocity beneficial?

Teams using Agile usually focus on two levels of completion: either incomplete or complete i.e 0% done or 100% done.  But, sometimes, the task is only 70 - 80% complete. Hence, it is not considered in velocity.

You can plan the team’s velocity at their one and half of team’s total available time. Measuring the Agile Velocity can aid into effective visibility of project progress and status. It is believed that this will stabilize the project life in case the team planning or amount of hours taken to complete the project varies. It makes project planning easy.

Those new to Agile Software Development can select the initial velocity using available information. As days pass by, they will know how velocity can be measured and adjusted.
Velocity can simplify and accelerate the entire project planning and estimation, status tracking and reporting process.

How to track Agile Velocity?

Velocity charts are used to track the Agile Velocity. These are used by most of the project management platforms. These charts assist in visualizing the amount of value delivered. It also enables you to predict the amount of work done by the team in different phases.

So, does this mean Maximum Velocity = Maximum Productivity? Well, let’s check the validity of this statement:

Does Maximum Velocity = Maximum Productivity?

Maximizing Velocity may sometimes mean minimizing productivity. Forcefully trying to increase velocity can lead to less productivity. The aim is to have accurate Agile Velocity not maximum velocity.

There are various tools used to measure the velocity accuracy. These are also used to have visibility across all of your teams in one place. You can reuse the velocity data to measure the health of your product.

Scrum Vs waterfall

When you invest in project management training, you will be familiar with key project management practices Scrum Vs waterfall. Learning about these methods will enable you to organize your project effectively, which will focus your strategy and enable you to achieve good results. Here are just a few key PM practices:

Waterfall

This method is well-known in most industries and is especially popular in the construction industry. There are many different versions of this process with the original version,

Including these key steps for Scrum Vs waterfall

1. Alignment of elements
2. Design
3. AK or Coding
4. Integration
5. AK validation
6. Installing
7. Maintenance

PER (enable packaged re-engineering)

In most modern PM courses, this method cannot be mentioned, but it is still commonly researched because it follows conventional and traditional avenues for project management. Longer papers on procedures explain deeper theories and applications that can be applied in conjunction with other processes.

NPI (new product introduction)

NPI is not considered a complete method because PMM lacks complete process (and steps) to plan for success, but it is still a useful process that businesses and companies use in relation to products related to products.

SCRUM

In Scrum Vs waterfall Scrum is a different method (compared to more traditional types) that does not use traditional terminology or standard PM Framework. It works in projects that are not widely restricted by budget or time frame and call for a whole dedicated team at the same time, with members who can work on different projects. In this process, the project manager will be called 'Scroll Master', whose main responsibility is focusing in the team, eliminating any distraction and encouraging and facilitating good communication in the team.

The process involves a 30-day cycle labeled 'Sprint' with 'Scrum Sessions' per month. Targets and timelines have broken into 30-day schedules which means that teams struggling to organize most complex projects or their workloads can benefit from the process.

Red (Rapid Apps Development)

The software development sector uses this PM system frequently because it uses collective techniques and modeling to determine the client's requirements and to successfully make and improve the final system in Scrum Vs waterfall. The methodology uses a model and a continuous series of techniques within the processing project. Although some managers do not favor the original method because they believe that the original processes are not sufficient enough to create complicated efficiencies, newer versions are to solve these issues, which means that it has become a more efficient and useful method in recent years.

PRINCE2

PRINCE2 is perhaps the most popular word used in terms of project management. It is an influential standard in the public sector and at the same time there is a method in Scrum Vs waterfall. Instead of a recommended 'good practice' or strategy, PRINCE2 is known by the UK government (and used by them) and is used worldwide. Whether PRINCE2 is a good approach to your organization, it really depends on your industry but it is very effective in effective project management training and supported by the appropriate PM framework.
